CARDIFF 〓 BBC National Orchestra of Wales has announced the appointment of Ryan Bancroft as its new Principal Conductor

The BBC National Orchestra of Wales has welcomed Ryan Bancroft of the United States as the next principal conductor. The successor to Thomas Søndergård, who has been the principal conductor since 2020.

The BBC National Orchestra of Wales is one of the orchestras under the BBC(British Broadcasting Corporation). Headquartered in Cardiff, the capital of Wales.

Bancroft is 29 years old born in Los Angeles. After studying the trumpet at the California University of the Arts, he studied conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in Scotland. In 2018, he won the Malko International Conductors Competition in Copenhagen.
