Based on local reports, the decision was made by the Canton of Lucerne, concerned that the orchestra members had been infected.

The orchestra dropped out is Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, the resident orchestra of the Lucerne Theater.

The orchestra was led by Principal Conductor James Gaffigan and performed in Udine on February 15 and Lugano on February 16.
