The British composer, Jonathan Goldstein, who has been active in film and tv music, based in London, died of a Cessna aircraft clash in Switzerland on the 25th. He was piloting the aircraft himself.
Goldstein, a 50-year-old, was involved in the production of film music such as “Taxi Driver” and “Cape Fear” directed by Martin Scorsese.
The accident also killed his wife, Hannah Marcinowicz, who was on aircraft, and their seven-month-old daughter, Sakia. Hanna is a 36-year-old, popular saxophone player, plays with many orchestras in London. They were married two years ago.
The aircraft was headed for Italy from Lausanne, France. At about 10:30 am 90 minutes after take-off, aircraft hit a hillside at an altitude of 6,100 feet at Simplon Pass.
