Conductor Christoph Eschenbach (78) will take office as chief conductor of Konzerthausorchester Berlin from the 2019/2020 season. Iván Fischer succeeded as chief conductor since 2012. Konzerthausorchester Berlin was an association called Berliner Sinfonie Orchester who was based in Shawspeel Haus during the East German period, and received a long stature of the master Kurt Sanderling. Following the renovation of its home base as Konzerthaus, it was renamed to current name in 2006.
