German opera magazine “Opernwelt” announced “of the year”. It is chosen by 50 name voters of music critic and reporters all over the world, and it is published who voted. “OperaHouse” was chosen as the fourth award at the Frankfurt Opera. “Performance” is Wagner “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” by Bayreuth Festival directed by Barrie Kosky, and Baritonesinger Johannes Martin Kränzle who sang the Beckmesser in that performance was selected as “singer”. “Director” received Peter Konwitschny for the seventh time. “Orchestra” has been the Bavarian State Opera Orchestra for the fifth consecutive year, the “Choir” is Stuttgart State Opera Choir, and the “Conductor” is John Eliot Gardiner.
