The headquarters of Dobson Pipe Organ Builders, a major pipe organ company in Lake City, Iowa, USA, was completely destroyed by fire. Dobson was founded in 1974.

Known as a pioneer in the manufacture of mechanical pipe organs, Dobson has worked on nearly 100 new releases since its inception, while also restoring many historic pipe organs.

The Kimmel Performing Arts Center’s pipe organ, home of the Philadelphia Orchestra, is one of them, and is the largest concert hall organ in the United States.
