MUNICH 〓 Bavarian State Opera announces schedule for summer opera festival

The Bavarian State Opera in Munich has announced the schedule for the summer opera festival. According to the announcement, the session will be from June 25th to July 31st.

Two premier works will appear during the period, including Wagner “Tristan und Isolde” newly directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski and Mozart “Idomeneo” newly directed by Antú Romero Nunes.

Kirill Petrenko will be conducting “Tristan und Isolde” on June 29, and the singers will be Jonas Kaufmann in Tristan, Anja Harteros in Isolde, Mika Kares in Marke, Wolfgang Koch in Kurwenal, and Okka Von del Damerau in Brangäne. It will also be performed on July 31st, the closing day.

On the other hand, “Idomeneo” will appear on July 19th. Constantinos Carydis will be appointed as the conductor. Matthew Polenzani sings Idomeneo, Emily D’Angelo sings Idamante, Olga Kulchynska sings Ilia, and Hannah-Elisabeth Muller sings Elettra.
