TBILISI 〓 Violinist Lisa Batiashvili establishes a foundation in her home country to support young musicians

Violinist Lisa Batiashvili has announced that she has set up a foundation to support young musicians in her native Georgia.

According to the announcement, the goal is to provide support to talented young musicians in Georgia who do not have the financial resources to pursue a career abroad. In addition to awarding scholarships, the foundation will also partner with the Tsinandali Festival, which was founded in 2019 in Georgia.

Batiashvili was born in 1979 in the capital Tbilisi, 40 years old. He moved to Munich, Germany with his family in 1994. She won second place in the Sibelius International Violin Competition at the age of 16 in 1995, and she has continued to play an active role worldwide. Her husband is oboe player François Leleux.
