Where is the World’s big5 Opera House? If there is such as a question, the Vienna State Opera and the Bavarian State Opera win in the German-speaking.
Over 300 performances per year. Opera, ballet and concert performances are performed in a repertoire system that changes the performance every day. And just after the season ends, this festival begins. The festival is held until the end of July.
Bavarian State Opera founded as the royal theater of the Principality of Bavaria, it has a glorious history with many premieres of works by Wagner and Richard Strauss. Until the unification of east and west Germany, Munich instead of Berlin which became a “land island”, became the center of German opera performances after the world war Ⅱ.
The theater is also one of the world’s largest opera companies. They have three theaters, Nazional Theater where it is there home based, as well as the Cubilier Theater in the former Royal Palace, and Prince Regenten Theater.
The feature of the festival is that it is built as a compilation of the previous season, and the premiere (new works) of the previous season is staged at once. In addition there will be a premiere performance for the festival.
Untill 2009, Wagner’s “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” was performed on the last day of the festival. Although it is based on the premiere here, it was Interesting to conclude a year’s activities with a “singing battle story”.
