Italian composer Ennio Morricone died early in the morning on the 6th. According to Italian reports, he fell and broke his femur a few days ago and died in a hospital in Rome. He was 91 years old.

Born in Rome, he studied composition at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory and was in charge of music such as television and radio as a composer. In the field of film music, he was the last Italian master after the death of Nino Rota (1911-79).

In the 1960s, he established a reputation as a composer by working on music for works such as “A Fistful of Dollars”, “For a Few Dollars More” directed by Sergio Leone.

In 1971, he was in charge of the music for the film “Sacco and Vanzetti”, which depicts the “False charges of Sacco and Vanzetti”. The insertion song sung by Joan Baez became a huge hit worldwide.

Since then, he continued to carry out active creative activities, and the music of “The Mission” in 1986 and “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso” in 1989 was very popular all over the world. These music are still played around the world.

The Academy Awards was nominated five times for “Days of Heaven”, “The Mission”, “The Untouchables”, “Bugsy”, “Malèna”, and in its achievements, he was honored with the 79th Academy Award in 2007. Then, in 2016, he won the 88th Academy Award for Best Composition for the music “The Hateful Eight”.
