The Salzburger Festspiele has announced the outline of the summer festival to be carried out at a reduced scale. The festival announced on the 25th.

According to it, the opening date is August 1st. It will end on the 30th, with 90 performances over the 30 days. Considering that the original plan was to perform 200 performances at 16 venues in 44 days, the scale was significantly reduced.

Many of the performances are expected to be small concerts, and the performance of the opera has not been disclosed. Details of the program will be announced in early June by artistic director Markus Hinterhäuser.

At music festivals, in principle, if there is something that cannot be performed this year, it will be slid to next year’s festival.

This year’s festival marks the 100th anniversary of its foundation, and a commemorative exhibition will be held from the end of July 2020 until the end of the festival.
