Yehudi Menuhin School will open a Chinese campus in Qingdao, China. Scheduled to open in 2022-23. Qingdao is a port city in Shandong Province and developed as a German’s leased territory until World War I. In addition to the western-style cityscape, the influence of German culture such as beer and bread still remains.

The music school was founded in 1963 in Surrey, south of London, by Yehudi Menuhin, who was active as a global violinist in 1963. Approximately 60 students from 8 to 18 years old majoring in string instruments or piano. Graduates include artists such as Nicola Benedetti, Nigel Kennedy, Tasmin Little, Jean-Marc Luisada, and Kathryn Stott.
