MUNICH 〓 Bavarian State Opera launches its own label

The Bavarian State Opera (Bayerische Staatsoper) has announced that it will launch an original label and release CDs and DVDs of its performances.

The new label is “Bayerische Staatsoper Recordings”, abbreviated as “BSOrec”. The first is a CD, which will be released on May 28th.

The first release will be a CD, Mahler’s Symphony No. 7 conducted by Kirill Petrenko, who was the music director of the opera until the 2019/2020 season.

Also, in July, Korngold’s opera “The dead city”, which was performed with Marlis Petersen and Jonas Kaufmann, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray.
