MACERATA 〓 Three Italian music festivals have decided to hold

2020/05/25

Italian summer music festivals have announced their decision to hold one after another. It was Puccini Festival, Macerata Opera Festival, and Valle d’Itria Festival.

However, the initial schedule will be changed in line with the event regulations of the Italian government due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

The Puccini Festival has only three opera performances: Tosca, Madama Butterfly, and Gianni Schicchi.

Of the three works scheduled for the Macerata Opera Festival, only Don Giovanni will be performed. “Tosca” was postponed in 2021, and “Il Trovatore” was replaced by a concert.

The Valle d’Itria Festival will perform Richard Strauss’s “Ariadne auf Naxos” and “Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme” in the courtyard of the Palazzo Ducale.
