NEW YORK 〓 The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra will tour Europe in the summer of 2021

The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra will tour Europe in the summer of 2021. Their tour will be the first the Orchestra goes to Europe since 2002. This is the first tour by Yannick Nézet-Séguin as music director.

The Orchestras will perform in London (June 29: Barbican Centre), Paris (June 30 and July 1: Philharmonie), Baden-Baden (July 3 and 4: Festspielhaus) Three cities.

The tour will include Joyce DiDonato, who will sing selections from Berlioz’s “Les Troyens” in a program that will also include Berlioz’s Symphony Fantastique. This program will be performed at all cities.

In a second program in Paris and Baden-Baden, Christine Goerke, Brandon Jovanovich, and Günther Groissböck, who will perform the first act of Wagner’s “Die Walküre,” in addition to Strauss’ “Don Juan” and Missy Mazzoli’s Sinfonia.
