WASHINGTON 〓 National Symphony Orchestra extended the contract with Gianandrea Noseda until 2025

The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) based in Washington, USA announced that it extended the contract with music director Gianandrea Noseda until 2025. Noseda has just arrived in the 2017/2018 season (term of office until 2021). The contract was extended for another 4 years in one year of activity. The National Symphony Orchestra also announced it had raised $10 million in special funding to support a number of Noseda initiatives.

The National Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1931 as an orchestra to perform for state acts and public holidays. The base is the Kennedy Center. When Mstislav Rostropovich suddenly took over as music director in 1977, the world was surprised. He left the former Soviet Union in 1974 and was exiled. He served as a music director until 1994, and in 1990 he made a tour to the Soviet Union in the Gorbachev regime and has recovered honor.
