Global tenor singer Plácido Domingo withdraws from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Official Cultural Program. Announced by the Organizing Committee on the 8th. Domingo was scheduled to perform with Kabuki actor Ebizo Ichikawa next April as “Kabuki x Opera”. Domingo has announced through the organizing committee that it has decided not to participate after careful consideration.

Allegations of sexual harassment about Domingo emerged in mid-August. AP News reported that Domingo has sexually harassed female singers and dancers since the late 1980s, and some victims have complained of damage in their real names.

Domingo denied allegations, but resigned as general director of the Los Angeles opera, and in America, all performances were canceled. After this, there is a concert by Domingo in Japan, It is scheduled at the end of January next year in Tokyo.
