LONDON 〓 Stern’s “Vuillaume” will be put up for auction next month

Musical instrument dealer “Ingles & Hayday” announced next year that it will put up an online auction of the famous violin “Vuillaume 1840” once owned by the Isaac Stern. Estimated prices range from £ 180,000 to £ 250,000.

The violin to be exhibited was owned by Stern until the late 1980s. It was created at the request of the composer Alexei Lvov (1799-1870) during the imperial Russian era. He is known for composing the national anthem of imperial Russia, “God Save the Tsar!”.
