Finland’s Savonlinnan Opera Festival(Savonlinnan Oopperajuhlat) has announced the abandonment of opera performances. This year’s festival was scheduled to take place from July 2nd to 31st.

The reason for abandoning is that the government’s measures against the new corona are uncertain. A scaled-down Karita Mattila recital and a vocal competition during the period will be held, with details to be announced later.
