BRISBANE 〓 Opera Australia creates a new “ring” cycle

The Australian National Opera “Opera Australia” announced that it will produce a new Wagner “The Ring of the Nibelung” in the winter of 2020. Plan to showcase in Brisbane. Brisbane is Australia’s third largest city, but it is the first time that all four parts have been staged. The performance will be from November 10th to December 5th.

Performed by Queensland Symphony Orchestra conducted by Philippe Auguin. Singers such as Vitalij Kowaljow on Votan, Alison Oaks on Brünnhilde and Stefan Vinke on Siegfried will appear.

Directed by Chen ShiZheng, who was born in Changsha, China in 1963. He is currently a director based in New York, making his debut as a film director in the 2007 movie “Dark Matter” in which Liu Ye and Meryl Streep appeared. In Australia, he directed the Opera “Turandot” of Sydney Harbor Handa Opera in 2015.
