TOKYO 〓 Tokyo Symphony Orchestra resumes concert

The Tokyo Symphony Orchestra will finally resume its concert on March 21.

This is the first time that a professional orchestra in Tokyo will perform normally after a request from the government for self-restraint.

Following the spread of the new coronavirus in Japan, Prime Minister Abe called on February 26 to refrain from holding a major event for two weeks. In addition, on March 10, the Prime Minister called for continued self-restraint for about 10 days.

The first performance to be resumed is the 113th concert of the “Tokyo Opera City Series”. Ravel program led by Norichika Iimori.
