DUBLIN 〓 Jaime Martín will be appointed Principal Conductor by RTÉ National Symphony

Spain-born conductor Jaime Martín will be appointed Principal Conductor by RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra. He replaces Alan Buribayev, who is the principal conductor from 2010.

Martin was born in Santander in 1965. After working as Principal flute player of St.Martin of the Fields, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, etc., he became a conductor.

Since 2013 he is the principal conductor of the Gavle Symphony Orchestra of Sweden. RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra is an orchestra belonging to the Ireland Broadcasting Corporation (RTÉ). The base is Dublin, the capital.
