BERLIN 〓 Jiyoon Lee becomes a concertmaster of Staatskapelle Berlin

A Korean-born violinist Jiyoon Lee (25) was to be greeted as a concertmaster of Berlin-Staatskapelle led by Daniel Barenboim. She has joined the performance as a trial member from September last year, and the vote by the violin division on the 1st was unanimous.

Lee was born in Seoul, after studying at Korean National University of Arts, She went to Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin and is studying under Kolja Blacher. After winning at the David Oistrakh International Violin Competition in 2013, She won the prize at 2014 Indianapolis Violin Competition and 2015 Elisabeth Queen International Music Competition. In the Carl-Nielsen International Music Competition in 2016 She has won the first prize.

C.F.Landolfi is loaned from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, and has already co-starred with various orchestras. In May, an album that recorded the Violin Concerto of Korngold and Nielsen is also released (co-starring the Odense Symphonic Orchestra under the direction of Christina Poscha).
