MILWAUKEE 〓 Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra appoints Ken-David Masur for music director

Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra will receive Ken-David Masur, 41 as a music director. The director’s post was vacant after Edo de Waart resigned last summer. Ken-David is the son of Kurt Masua, the East German conductor who headed the democratic movement. He studied at the Columbia University via Leipzig Conservatoire, Detmold Music Academy, Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. Currently he is a deputy conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
