MUNICH 〓 Bavarian State Opera has announced its performance lineup for its new 2022/2023 season

The Bavarian State Opera, based in Munich, Germany, has announced its performance lineup for its new 2022/2023 season.

The new productions include the following 10 works, of which Brett Dean’s “Hamlet” and Handel’s “Semele” will appear at the Munich Opera Festival in summer.

The State Opera also announced the creation this year of “Yes, May.”

The festival dedicated to the dialogue between late 16th-century music theater and contemporary music theater; in its second year, next May will feature Toshio Hosokawa’s “Hanjo” and “Matsukaze” and Monteverdi’s “Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria.”
