BRUSSELS 〓 La Monnaie has extended its contract with Music Director Alain Altinoglu

The La Monnaie opera house in Brussels, has extended its contract with Music Director Alain Altinoglu. Altinoglu has held the position since the 2014/2015 season, and this contract renewal extends his tenure until 2031.

Altinoglu is a 49-year-old Parisian. He was raised in an Armenian family from Istanbul and studied at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique.

He has served as Principal Conductor of Germany’s hr-Sinfonieorchester (formerly Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra) since the 2021/2022 season and has also been Artistic Director of France’s Colmar International Music Festival since summer 2023.
