VERONA 〓 Arena di Verona has canceled

The Arena di Verona has canceled its 2020 festival due to the global spread of the new coronavirus. They moving its productions to 2021.

The Foundation’s president Federico Sboarina and director Cecilia Gasdia announced the news. Additionally, Sboarina also announced that the cancelation of the season will result in a 20 million Euro loss.

This year’s festival was scheduled to run from June 13th to September 5th. It was scheduled to open with a new production of “Pagliacci” & “Cavalleria Rusticana” by Gabriele Muccino.

They had “Aida,” “Nabucco,” “La Traviata,” “Roberto Bolle and Friends”. There were also gala concerts scheduled for Anna Netrebko, Plácido Domingo, and Jonas Kaufmann.
