The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra will appoint the British conductor Nicholas Collon as the next Principal conductor. He replaced Hannu Lintu, who has been the principal conductor since 2013, with a term of 2021-2022 season. The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1927. Along with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, one of Finland’s leading orchestras.
Collon is 36 years old born in London. He studied viola, piano and organ at Eaton and Clare College of Cambridge University. He studied with Colin Davis and Mark Elder, and in 2004, he organized Aurora Orchestra with Robin Ticciati and became artistic director. Since 2018-2019 he has been the principal conductor of the Hague Residentie Orchestra in Netherlands.
