The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in the USA has announced the 30 winners who have passed the preliminary round of the 16th edition of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.
The competition was founded in 1962 and is held in Fort Worth, Texas, in memory of Van Cliburn, winner of the piano section of the first ‘International Tchaikovsky Competition’ in 1958. It is held every four years.
The 16th edition was scheduled to take place from 27 May to 12 June 2021, but due to the global outbreak of Covid-19, it was postponed to 2022 and will be held from 2 June to 18 June.
The contestants are as follows. Six contestants from Russia and one from Ukraine.
