The 73rd International Music Competition of the ARD in Munich announced the winners of all categories on September 15th.
The competition, which is organized by the Bavarian Broadcasting Company, was established in 1952 and is held every year. It is divided into 21 categories, with multiple categories being held each year.
This year, there were four categories: woodwind quintet, vocal music, oboe, and cello, and the competition was held from September 3rd to 15th. A record 726 people from 58 countries applied. The winners in each category are as follows.
Wind quintet
1st prize: Alinde Quintet, Czech
2nd prize: Pacific Quintet, Germany/Honduras/Japan/Russia/Spain + Audience Prize
3rd prize: Nevsky Wind Quintet, Russia / SenArts Wind Quintet, Spain
Singing
1st prize: Samueol Park=baritone, South Korea
2nd Prize: Aurora Marthens=soprano, Finland + Audience Prize
3rd Prize: Mira Alkhovik=soprano, Russia
Oboe
1st Prize: Leonid Surkov, Russia
2nd Prize: Ilyes Boufadden Adloff, France
3rd Prize: Omer-Itzhak Posti, Israel / João Miguel Moreira da Silva, Portugal + Audience Prize
Violoncello
1st prize: Maria Zaitseva, Russia + Audience Prize
2nd prize: Krzysztof Michalski, Poland
3rd prize: Alexander Warenberg, Netherlands
