The 10th “International Violin Competition of Indianapolis” ended, Taiwanese-American Americans Richard Lin (27) won the championship. The second prize is Hokamura Risa of Japan (17), the third prize is Luke Hsu of the United States (28). The prize money ranks first for $ 30,000, second for $ 15,000 and third for $ 10,000. The contest was founded in 1982. Since then, it has been held every four years.
This year’s competition took place on September 2-15, 38 out of 40 who passed the preliminary examination, participated in the final, with 6 people. The finalist plays Mozart and Kreisler with a chamber orchestra without a conductor. In the second half, all played the Tchaikovsky concerto with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra conducted by Leonard Slatkin. The judging committee consists of nine people, including Pamela Frank, Takezawa Kyoko, Cho Liang Lin and others, the clinic president Jaime Laredo.
