Eliahu Inbal will be appointed as the principal conductor of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra. The term is three years from August. There are three orchestras in Taipei: National Symphony Orchestra (Philharmonia Taiwan), Taipei Symphony Orchestra, and Ever green Orchestra. The Taipei Symphony Orchestra was established in 1969. Inbal is 83 years old born in Jerusalem. Currently he has acquired citizenship in the United Kingdom.

Inbal studied at the Paris Conservatory and won the Guido Cantelli International Conductor Competition in 1964. He became music director of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra in 1974, and established a golden age until his departure in 1990. After that, he was the music director and chief director of the Fenice Theater Orchestra (1984-89), the Berlin Symphony Orchestra (2001-2006), the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra (2009-2012) and the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra (2008-2014).
