OSLO 〓 The next chief conductor of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra is 22 years old

The Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra will have a 22-year-old Klaus Mäkelä for the next chief conductor. From the 2020/2021 season. Mäkelä studied conducting at Jorma Panula at the Sibelius Conservatory and studied cello from Marko Ylonen. After that, he began full-scale activities as a conductor, and since 2018/19 season he has just taken over as the artist-in association of Tapiola Sinfonietta, the chief guest conductor of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
