LONDON 〓 English National Opera has decided to free some performances to under-18s

English National Opera (ENO) has decided to free some performances to people under the age of 18 to have young people touch more operas from next year. All the performances to be held on Saturday night in the first half of 2019. There are 11 performances including Puccini “La Boheme”, Lehar “Merry Widow”, Mozart “Magic Flute”. In March this year, Stuart Murphy, who was at the BBC youth Internet TV channel “BBC Three”, took office as a CEO of English National Opera and a new line has been launched.

English National Opera is the biggest feature that operas are all performed in English. Compared to the Royal Opera House, the price is kept low at the beginning. The predecessor was Vick-Wells Opera, founded in 1931. After that, it became Saddlers Wells Opera and became the current name since 1974 when they moved their home base to London Coliseum. The successive music directors include Colin Davis, Charles Mackerras, Mark Elder, Paul Daniel, etc. Since 2016, Martyn Brabbins is the chief conductor.

London Coliseum is a theater in St Martins Lane, near Trafalgar Square, which opened in 1904. In London’s largest theater (2359 seats), the appearance of Edwardian dynasty is solemn itself. An object of the globe is installed as a symbol on the spire. It was built by advocating a wonderful music hall for the people and was called “entertainment palace” and it has been popular. Internal refurbishment has been carried out in 2004.
