German Halle State Theater announced that it will welcome the French conductor Ariane Matiakh to Music Director of from 2019/2020 season. Halle, famous as a mining site for rock salt, is close to Leipzig, and for music fans as a birthplace of composer Handel, the Handel music festival is held in early June every year.

Matiakh was born in 1980. After learning the piano and vocal music, she studied conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. After that, he served as an assistant such as Armin Jordan, James Conlon and so on. In 2008 she became a finalist of the Donatella Flick LSO Conducting Competition hosted by the London Symphony Orchestra and has expanded its place of activity.
