Around the Music Festival

The Austrian Bregenzer Festival began on July 18th. At the opening concert, President Alexander Van der Bellen also attended, and the opera “Beatrice Cenci” of Berthold Goldschmidt (1903-1996) was performed in the direction of Johannes Erath. The performance is the Vienna Symphony Orchestra conducted by Johannes Debus. On the other hand, the opera performance using the stage specialized on the lake started from 19th. A new work has been performed at a pace every two years, this year following Bizet “Carmen” last year. During the period, 29 shows will be held. Next year and the year after next will be Verdi “Rigoletto” by the new production of Phlipp Stölzl. In 2021 and 2021, Puccini “Madama Butterfly” was just announced. This is a new production by Andreas Homoki.
