World-renowned pianist Martha Argerich canceled her appearance at a concert in St. Moritz, Switzerland, on August 2. On August 6, she announced that she was canceling all of her August performances. Her management cited “acute fatigue” as the reason. Argerich is currently 84 years old.

The concerts that have been canceled are the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland (August 28) and the Enescu Festival in Romania (August 31). In both concerts, she was scheduled to perform with the Santa Cecilia National Academy Orchestra conducted by Daniel Harding. SeongJin Cho will perform as a substitute.

According to her management, she is scheduled to return on September 15. On that day, she will perform with the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by her ex-husband Charles Dutoit, at the Enescu Festival. Argerich performed with the Capuçon brothers at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland on July 24, and the concert was streamed online.
