Sado will conduct Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4 “Romantic” in October and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 in January 2023, combining Bruckner with Haydn’s Symphony No. 44 and Mahler with Toru Takemitsu’s “Family Tree “.

The program is a combination of Debussy’s “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun,” Stravinsky’s ballet suite “The Firebird,” and Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique, a collection of works he is known for.

Also appearing in September and February 2024 is Joe Hisaishi, composer-in-residence and music partner since 2020. He will conduct Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 in September as well as a new work.
