Sondheim is 89 years old, born in New York. At the age of 27, he was featured in the lyrics of the musical “West Side Story” and was spotlighted. Since then, he has been contributing to the US musical scene for over half a century. His five works such as “Company”, “Into the Woods”, and “Sweeney Todd” won the Tony award’s music award. He also won a special award in 2008. The Tony Award has been won eight times in all, the highest number of awards for composers.
