Volksoper’s “Porgy and Bess” performances ended on the night of the 25th. In that performance, a rare incident occurred in which a conductor quickly acted as a substitute for a singer who lost physical condition. Sang as a substitute is Joseph R. Olefirowicz who gathers popularity as a “dancing conductor” with expressive conducting.

This night performance is performed in concert style. Instead of Alexander Pinderak, who is no longer able to sing Robins, Olefilovitz sang the part of Pindellack towards the audience from the commander’s podium. Of course, the venue applauded. After the performance, Olefirowicz tells local media that “Robins’ turn was only the first act, so it managed somehow”.
