City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra announced that he chose the violinist Gidon Kremer as the residency artist for the next 2018/2019 season. It also revealed that Kazuki Yamada of Japan was appointed principal guest conductor. The music director of the Birmingham City Symphony Orchestra is Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, and Kremer is a senior as an artist from the same Lithuania for her. Gražinytė-Tyla plans 23 concerts with the title “Baltic way” for the next season.
