The Hamburg State Opera is calling for refugees who evacuated to Germany to participate in the chorus of the opera “Nabucco”.

The State Opera are recruiting participants, a new production “Nabucco” that opens on March 10. Russian director Kirill Serebrennikov handled the new production. In August 2017 he was arrested by the Russian authorities during filming of the movie “Summer = Leto”.

The State Opera has issued a message saying “For the performance, we continue to have hope that he will be released from house arrest.” The rehearsal of the chorus is said to start from January 30th.
