The name of Baritone singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky will be attached to the airport of Krasnoyarsk of Russia. Hvorostovsky died in London last November 22 after a two and a half fight with a brain tumor. 55 years old was a missing death. His name is attached to Yemelyanovo International Airport. At the international airport which opened in 1980, it is 27 km northwest of his home town Krasnoyarsk.
After graduating from Krasnoyarsk Art University, Hvorostovsky is active at the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theater. Glinka International Vocal Contest (Russia) in 1987, The International Competition of Singers in Toulouse (France) in 1988, BBC Cardiff Singer of the World (UK) in 1989. From 1994 he moved to London, attracted many opera fans seamlessly with Legato and passionate voice, repeatedly appeared in a famous opera house. In 1995 he received the People’s Artist of Russian Federation.
