Russia’s leading conductor, Gennady Rozstdvensky, died on Monday in Moscow. He was 87 years old. What Moscow Conservatory has announced. Since 2012 He was a music director at the Moscow Chamber Music Theater. In 1996 he received the National Prize. He was also an honorary member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in England. It is deeply related to Japan, and in 1957 he came to Japan for the first time as a conductor of the Bolshoi Theater. In 1972 he Conducted the Moscow Broadcast Symphony Orchestra in Osaka and performed Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 15 for the first time outside the Soviet Union. Since its first co-star in 1979, he has deepened relationships with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra and was conducting many times. In 1990 he became an honorary conductor. In 2001 he received the Third Rank of the Order of the Rising Sun.
