“Festival Stars of the White Nights” held in St. Petersburg, Russia announced the schedule of this year.

The presentation was delayed.The festival was a festival of opera and ballet which was established in 1993, mainly by the Mariinsky Theater led by Valery Gergiev.

The opening of this year, which is the 26th time, will be held on 23rd May, with the performance of Verdi “Falstaff”. The festival is long until July 29th.

This year’s theme country in Italy, Verdi “La traviata” that Plácido Domingo has appeared, another of Verdi “Macbeth” that Anna Netrebko has appeared, Italian opera is staged one after another.

It is the following work that will be performed. “Tosca”, “Rigoletto”, “Otello”, “Lucia di Lammermoor”, “La Bohème”, “Simon Boccanegra”, “Un Ballo in Maschera”, “Turandot”, “La forza del destino”, “Don Carlo” , “Attila”, “Norma”.

Another theme is “100 years after Debussy ‘s death”, and a lot of his works are taken up at the concert. The highlight of the guest orchestra is Staatskapelle Dresden led by Christian Thielemann.
