TORRE DEL LAGO 〓 Puccini Festival announces details for 2026

2025/08/16

The Puccini Festival held in Torre del Lago, Italy, has announced the details for its 2026 edition. According to the announcement, the festival will take place from July 17 to September 5, 2026.

In addition to Turandot, which marks the 100th anniversary of its premiere, the festival will feature four other works: Tosca, La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, and La Fanciulla del West.

The festival will open with a new production of Turandot. However, the director has not yet been announced.

Two versions of Turandot will be performed at this year’s festival: the 1867 version written by Antonio Bazzini, who was Puccini’s teacher, and the 1917 version by Ferruccio Busoni. They will be performed on July 9 and July 11, respectively, in a theater rather than outdoors.
