BERLIN 〓 Pianist Lars Vogt talks about fighting cancer in an interview

German pianist Lars Vogt talks about fighting cancer in an interview with the German online magazine VAN Magazine. He said that he has just started the second round of chemotherapy.

Vogt is 50 years old born in Düren. He won second place at the 1990 Leeds International Piano Competition and gained attention. Since then, he has a wide repertoire from classical to contemporary music, and he continues to play an active role internationally.

He is also a conductor, becoming the music director of the Royal Northern Sinfonia in the United Kingdom in 2015 and the music director of the Paris Chamber Orchestra from the 2020/2021 season. He has also presided over the Spanungen Music Festival in the city of Heimbach since 1998.
