BERLIN 〓 Musikfest Berlin has announced its performance lineup for 2024

The Musikfest Berlin, which comprises Berlin Art Week, has announced its performance lineup for 2024. The festival will run from August 24 to September 17, and will spotlight Bruckner’s 200th birthday, Nono’s 100th birthday, and Ives’ 150th birthday and 70th death anniversary.

The Festival is known as the “Festival of the Orchestras” because of the prominent groups that will be in attendance, and in 2024, the Cleveland Orchestra, Kansas City Symphony Orchestra, La Scala Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchestra, and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra will all be in attendance. In addition, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will make its first appearance in 2024.

The Cleveland Orchestra, led by music director Franz Welser-Möst, will open the festival. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Christian Thielemann, will perform Bruckner’s Symphony No. 1 and Schumann’s Symphony No. 1 “Spring”.
