LONDON 〓 Joshua Bell extends contract with Academy of St Martin in the Fields

US violinist Joshua Bell extended contract with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields. The term of office extends to 2023. Bell has been a music director since 2011. The Academy of St Martin in the Fields was established in 1959 in London by Neville Marriner, a British conductor. They began working as a string ensemble without conductors, placing 17th to 18th century music at the center of their repertoire, but gradually expanding their organization and repertoire.
