BERLIN 〓 Viola player Kyoungmin Park joins the Berlin Philharmonic for the first time as a Korean

Korean viola player Kyoungmin Park joined the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. The normal trial period is usually 2 years, but Park was hired after half a year. This is the first time Koreans have joined the Orchestra.

Park is 27 years old born in Seoul. Started playing the violin at the age of 6, and turned into a viola at the age of 11. Studied in Vienna from 2003. In 2008, she studied at Hans Eisler College of Music in Berlin and studied with Walter Küsner. Later, she studied under Tabea Zimmermann.

She has won many awards, including the 2nd Prize in the 2010 Lionel Tartis International Viola Competition and the 2nd Prize in the Viola section of the 2013 Munich International Music Competition.
